 Published in October 2008, “Desi Land: Teen Culture, Class and Success in Silicon Valley” (Duke University Press) is an entertaining ethnographic account of teen culture during the late ‘90s/early 2000s tech boom, when Shalini Shankar “kicked it” with desi teens in three Silicon Valley high schools.
